Incorporated in 1925, Elliot, Greene & Company (EGC) is one of America’s early pioneers meeting the needs of the fashion industry between the first and second World Wars. Originally, major industries served were high couture, haberdashery and footwear, which were centered on the East Coast at that time. Just prior to the outbreak of hostilities leading to World War II, representatives of EGC traveled to our European factories and suppliers to purchase all they could find; it was unclear whether the traditional glass industries would survive the war. Some of those treasures can still be found in our stocks today.
As a family run enterprise for more than 90 years, our founders’ emphasis has always been to provide our customers with variety, fair pricing, personal attention and the best customer service in our industry. These values are still very much in evidence from all our employees today; their average length of service at EGC is 15 years. From a regional supplier, EGC has expanded its outreach to serve a comprehensive national and international clientele. 99% of orders from stock are shipped the same day they are received.
Our product offerings are imported from over 12 countries including China, Hong Kong, Japan, the Czech Republic, Germany, England, France, Austria, India and Greece, as well as domestically manufactured items. We have directly manufactured products in the Czech Republic, Hong Kong and China allowing us to maintain quality, consistency and unique designs. Items made from glass, metal, wood, bone & horn, plastic, ceramics, porcelain, clay and leather are offered to our customers in all 50 states as well as more than 25 countries around the world. For more than 50 years, we have become the premiere supplier of beads and related items to the Native American community, which exist in every state in America. Our range of styles, colors and sizes is unrivaled among our competitors. Other industries served by our customers include hospitals, schools, greeting cards, publishing, jewelry, clothing, high fashion, hair ornamentation, hobby and crafts, sporting goods, costume, theatrical and even the circus.
We are always looking to find or develop arenas where our products can be used in new or non-traditional ways.
